Jaromir Jagr is a Czech professional ice hockey player and owner of his hometown team HC Kladno of the Czech Extraliga (ELH).

Jagr has formerly played for the Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, and New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League (NHL). Between 1990-2018 he served as the captain of the New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Jagr has the second-most points in NHL history, trailing only Wayne Gretzky, and was the NHL's youngest player at the age of 18. At age 45 he was the oldest player in the NHL to record a hat-trick. Jagr began to ice skate at the age of three and showed talent and skill for the game of hockey. At the age of 15, he was playing hockey at the highest level of the Czech Republic at HC Kladno, and at the age of 17, he was playing for the Czechoslovakia National Team.

Jagr started his NHL career during the 1990 NHL Draft, Jagr was picked by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the age of 18. Following the draft, he moved to North America, and almost immediately, the Penguins won two Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992. Jágr became one of the tournament's youngest goal scorers.

He set a new record for a European player with 149 points in the 1995-1996 season. And in the 1997-98 season, Jagr was announced as the new captain for the Penguins. He went on to win four consecutive NHL scoring championships, as well as the Hart Memorial Trophy and a gold medal for the Czech Republic in the Winter Olympics in 1998.

After accumulating over 1,000 points for the team, Jagr was moved to the Washington Capitals in 2001 but due to internal frictions, he was traded to the New York Rangers in 2004. By 2008, he had left the NHL completely to play for Avangard Omsk.

He returned to the NHL in 2011 and signed with the Philadelphia Flyers, where he rapidly established himself as one of the league's leading scorers before the start of the season. During his debut with the Flyers, he recorded his 1,600th NHL game point. Jagr was among the leading scorers early in the 2011–12 season.

In 2012 he signed on with the Dallas Stars for a year before signing on with the New Jersey Devils in 2013 for two years. In 2015 Jagr was acquired by the Florida Panthers in a trade and they won their first playoff series.

At the 2010 Winter Olympics, he served as the Czech Republic's flag bearer and is a member of the Triple Gold Club, the only players included in this club are the ones who have played for Stanley Cup-winning teams, the World Championships in ice hockey, and the Olympic gold medal in ice hockey.

He is in the Czech Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.
