In 1996, she appeared as Beakmom, the mother of Beakman, in the educational series 'Beakman's World'. She played the role of Ray's aunt in the 1996 sitcom 'Everybody Loves Ray'. She played the role of Nana Silverberg in the 'Murphy Brown' episode of the 'All In The Family' series in the same year. The final role that Jean Stapleton played was in 'Like Mother, Like Son: The Strange Story Of Sante And Kenny Kimes', portraying the character of Irene Silverman.
Coming a long way from being a Broadway actress to a celebrated artist, Jean Stapleton breathed her last on May 31, 2013, in New York. She has been buried at the Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

She also won an Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1978. She had been nominated 10 times at the Emmy Awards for her brilliant performances as an actress.
