Jesse Lafser is a musician ranging in styles from blues rock to country.
She is an American band entertainer and a book lover with a penchant for writing. She is a singer of the band the Bermuda Triangle, sharing the stage with Becca Mancari and Grammy award winner and lead singer Britanny Howard.
Her first album was 'Land In Sight', inspired by a Mark Twain story. She released her first album in 2008 and has recorded four albums, including one compilation. For inspiration, she likes to travel in her Jeep to faraway places and collaborate with other artists from various fields. She fights for gender equality and promotes the same in her music recordings. Also, she grew up listening to Bob Dylan and Kris Kristofferson and prefers to keep moving between Nashville, a culture hotspot in southwest America, New Mexico, and Los Angeles and dreams of touring Europe someday.
Considering her marriage with lead artist Brittany Howard, their pooled net worth can be around $1 million.
There's no concrete information on her annual salary, but an average musician in the USA earns approximately $53,000 per year.
Jesse is about 5 ft 6 in (168cm) tall.
Jesse was born on February 15, 1987 and is 35 years old as of 2022.
Jesse grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with her parents are Fredrick Lafser Jr. and Jeanne Lafser. Her mother, Jeanne is also a published author. Her parents love art and new places and have kept moving since her early years. She was surrounded by music recordings of Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, and Gillian Welch, especially Roger Miller. Lafser's parents named her after a Thomas Hart Benton painting titled 'Jessie with Guitar'. They finally settled in Nashville, where she grew up with her brother Garen Lafser.
In 2018, Jesse married lead vocalist Brittany Howard, a band entertainer with multiple Grammy nominations.
Jesse Lafser is a country musician and the partner of musician Brittany Howard, lead artist of Alabama Shakes and Thunderbitch. She is known for her songwriting skills inspired by her lifestyle and scripted her first song at the age of 15. She is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist and plays banjo, harmonica, guitar, and piano.
Jesse credits her environment, the people she met on her journeys, and her self-discipline for writing her songs and poetry. Her first official group was a folk rock band with Becca Mancari, and lead vocalist Brittany Howard called the Bermuda Triangle band (not to be confused with Bermuda Triangle Band, a psychedelic rock music band from the ’60s).
She released her first album 'Paper Words' in June 2008, with six songs, followed by 'Tiny Wars' released in Jan 2009 by Wilderside Productions, which comprised 11 tracks. Three years later, in 2012, 'Land of Sight' was released, an album of 11 tracks. 'Raised On Plains' was released by Two Jack Records in 2015 with 12 tracks, and the latest was 'Telekenisis', an 11-track album released in May 2021.
Her known singles would be 'Open Road', 'Sunny California' and the single 'Telekenesis'. A compilation consisting of 12 tracks was released as well called 'The Living Room Sessions' in April 2010. Her most played track is called the Jack hat blues from the album 'Raised On The Plains'.
She has performed in many concerts in the USA and is a regular in venues like the The Basement in her own musical hometown Nashville. She has been featured in independent online programs like the 'Lightning 100', 'NPR Live Sessions', 'Couch By Couch West' (CXCW), and 'Balcony Tv' to name a few.
She recorded with country folk musician Will Kimbrough in her album 'Raised On The Plains'. The track 'The Chores Song' in the album also featured Lindsay Hayes. She also collaborated with musicians, such as Spencer, Cullum, Evan Hutchings, Mike Rinne, and Kristen Weber to name a few. Her favorite songs from the album are 'Virginia Morning', 'Mountain Air' and 'Gone Gone Gone'.
She has four music videos to her credit, which are 'Gone Gone Gone', 'Jack Hat Blues', 'Open Road', 'Lately' and 'Tonight'.
Other well-received songs include 'Anywhere I Go', 'Tonight', 'Till The End Of Days', 'Rosey', 'Sunny California' and 'The Lighthouse'.
Plenty of media has praised her work and compared her with other great musicians. For example, New York Minute Magazine commented, 'At times her songs harness the gritty folk of Gillian Welch, and at other times they even contain the Western lilting of Patsy Cline'.
She used to volunteer in an art house called the Fat Crow Press in Nashville in her free time.
She was nominated for the Outlaw Female Category in the 2016 Ameripolitan Awards.
Jesse loves to go on long road trips in her 1999 Jeep and explore various communities. She also writes and reads books and has a dream to build a getaway cabin in rural Colorado someday. Recently, shewas spotted on her Instagram attending a Bob Dylan show at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre on June 16, 2022. She also likes tattoo art, evident by tattoos on her arm.
