John Clayton Mayer was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on October 16, 1977. John was schooled at Berklee College of Music, Boston, United States.
John Mayer moved in 1997 to Atlanta with Clay Cook, another American musician and record producer. They formed a two-man band together, Lo-Fi Masters. However, they didn't stay together for a long time.
After their split, John Mayer kept playing at local clubs to refine his skills and gain a following continually. He got signed to Aware Records after playing at the 2001 South by Southwest festival. Next to that, he was signed to Columbia Records. He released his first play, 'Inside Wants Out'.
He also released two albums, 'Room For Squares' in 2001 and 'Heavier Things' in 2003. The two albums performed brilliantly and yielded great commercial returns, reaching multi-platinum status.

Because of his vocal cords, John Mayer took a two-year break from singing publicly and recovered in 2013.
In 2013, he released his sixth album called 'Paradise Valley'. After that, John started working on another album, 'Deeply Personal'. With this album, he started collaborating with the group Dead & Company.
In 2017, he released his seventh album named 'The Search for Everything'.
In 2002, John Mayer won a Grammy Award in the category of Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for 'Your Body Is A Wonderland'.
