Kelly Preston was an American actress and former model who was born on October 13, 1962, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Kelly is best known for her roles in films such as 'Mischief,' 'Twins,' 'Jerry Maguire,' and 'The Last Samurai.' In addition to her acting career, Kelly also works as a spokesperson for the Church of Scientology.

During her childhood, she migrated to Iraq. She moved to Australia with her family after that. She attended Adelaide's Pembroke School before moving on to Punahou School. She then went to the University of Southern California to study drama and theater.
Her mother, Linda, was a mental health center administrator, while her father worked for an agricultural firm. When Kelly was three years old, her father drowned. Her mother's second husband, Peter Palzis, adopted Kelly. Chris Palzis was her younger half-brother.
In 1985, Kelly Preston married actor Kevin Gage, but the couple divorced after less than two years. For over a year, she dated George Clooney. For a brief period, she was engaged to Charlie Sheen. She married John Travolta in 1991, after meeting him on the set of ‘The Experts.’
Together, they had three children: two sons; Jett and Benjamin, and a daughter Ella Bleu.
While on vacation in the Bahamas with his family in 2009, Jett Travolta died of a seizure.
Preston was spotted at the age of 16 by a fashion photographer in Australia, who helped her find work in commercials and other modest roles. He set up her first movie audition for the role of Emmeline in 'The Blue Lagoon' (1980), which she lost to Brooke Shields, who was younger at the time. She changed her last name to Preston at that time.
In 1985, she made her film debut as Marilyn McCauley in the romantic comedy teen film 'Mischief,' followed by another teen romantic comedy, 'Secret Admirer,' in which she played the gorgeous but shallow Deborah Ann Fimple.
'SpaceCamp' (1986), 'Twins' (1988) with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, 'Jerry Maguire' (1996) with Tom Cruise, 'For Love of the Game' with Kevin Costner and Kate Newell, and 'Holy Man' (1998) with Eddie Murphy and Jeff Goldblum were among her other notable features. In 1997, she starred alongside Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence in the film 'Nothing to Lose.' She was also in the movie 'Jack Frost' (1998).
In the 2000 film 'Battlefield Earth,' she played the girlfriend of the protagonist Terl, played by her husband John Travolta.
Kelly starred in the music video for Maroon 5's' 'She Will Be Loved' in 2004. The video was a huge sensation and reached the top of the charts. Kelly portrayed the romantic interest of Maroon 5's frontman Adam Levine in the film.
Preston portrayed Helen Hume, the wife of Kevin Bacon's character Nick, in the crime thriller 'Death Sentence' (2007). She had a short-term recurring role in 'Medium' and was featured in a television pilot called 'Suburban Shootout' in 2008.
Preston appeared in Peter Markle's Lifetime television film 'The Tenth Circle' (2008). Ron Eldard, Britt Robertson, Michael Riley, Jamie Johnston, and Geordie Brown starred in the movie, which was shot in Nova Scotia.
Preston is passionate about overmedication in children, and she campaigns against schools that force youngsters to take ADD medication they don't need.
She's also a member of the Children's Health Environmental Coalition's board of directors.
The Jett Travoltas Foundation was founded in 2008, when John Travolta and Kelly Preston's autistic 16-year-old son Jett died in the Bahamas.
About $48,000 was given away by the Travoltas'. Around $18,000 of that was donated to science-related charities. The Institute for the Achievement of Human Behavior, a Scientology organization, received its largest donation of $10,000. A further $1,000 was donated to the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, which is also affiliated with Scientology. They also made a $1,000 donation to the Motion Picture Academy Museum.
