Lillie McCloud is an American singer who mainly sings in the genres of R&B, soul, house, and gospel. Lillie McCloud is from Rochester, USA. Formerly known as Nicole McCloud or Nicole J. McCloud, she was a participant in the third season of 'The X Factor.'
Before coming on the show, McCloud had achieved success in the music industry in the late '80s and '90s. The five studio albums that she has released over the years are 'What About Me' (1986), 'Jam Packed' (1988), 'Love Town' (1998), 'So What' (2002), and 'Red Apples' (2015). McCloud’s first appearance was as Nicole in 1985. She appeared with her first single, 'Always and Forever' on the Billboard US R&B charts and in 1986, she was on the Top 10 on the US Dance charts.
McCloud resurfaced when she auditioned for 'The X Factor' in Long Island, New York at 54 years of age. She sang the song 'Alabaster Box' by Cece Winans and impressed the judges, including Simon Cowell, and received a standing ovation, making it to the next round. She made her way to the Final 40 and then the Final 16. Kelly Rowland was her mentor in the Final Four Over 25s, and she made it to the top eight. However, she was eliminated in November 2013. The three then wrote the song 'What About the Beautiful Children' and the proceeds from the sales were donated to a charitable foundation.
