Lori Locust is one of the first women's football coaches in the National Football League.
Lori Locust had humble beginnings in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where she studied at Susquehanna Township High school. She began her football career in 2004 as a defensive lineman for semi-professional women's football team.
She was the team captain and MVP for the Central pa vipers during her fourth season, but she had to retire in the next season due to a knee injury.
After retiring, she started her journey as a football coach for the Central pa vipers. In 2013, Central Penn Piranha, a semi-professional men's team, hired her as their assistant football coach.
Lori Locust would go on to coach Central Penn capitals in 2016 as their defensive line coach. In 2017, she coached Lehigh Valley Steelhawks as their defensive line coach, linebackers coach, and co-special teams coordinator of the National arena league. She also interned as a defensive line coach for the Baltimore Ravens during their training camp in 2018.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hired Lori as their assistant defensive line coach in March 2019. She became the first female coach to win the Super Bowl in 2021 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs.
