At the end of the 1984 regular season, he joined the Boston Bruins and went on to score two goals and provide six assists. He also recorded 32 penalty minutes despite the less number of games played. He also recorded an impressive tally of 249 penalty minutes over the 53 games that he played that season.
Lyndon Byers signed a contract as a free agent with the San Jose Sharks in 1992 and went on to play his last season in the NHL in 1993 with them. He then joined Minnesota Moose, who played in the International Hockey League. He played for them until 1995 before deciding to retire from the sport.
Lyndon Byers became a regular at the 'Hill-Man Morning Show' after his retirement. He was a sports specialist for the show for a period of 23 years. He worked in the afternoon slot alongside his co-anchor Mike Hsu. The show was titled 'The Hsu And LB Show'. In fact, he left the show after delivering a heartfelt goodbye to the audience just moments before his exit from the studio.
The Boston Bruins man has featured in the series titled 'Rescue Me', which also included Denis Leary and Cam Neely as cast members. The show was produced by FX.
