The world of spiritual help gurus is one that is becoming more prominent today as people look to introspect and find a part of themselves they have not explored.
One such person, whose name is Anthony Paul Moo-Young, is Mooji. He set out on a spiritual journey, looking for perspective, and found a guru in India.
Let us take a look at the financials of Mooji, with details of the net worth and wealth of the guru.
The net worth of the spiritual teacher Mooji is estimated to be in the region of $1.5 million in 2021.
The spiritual guru is 5 ft 10 in (178 cm).
Mooji is 68 years old in 2022. He has spent his life spreading his teachings as a self-help guru to his followers.
Mooji was born Anthony Paul Moo-Young on January 29, 1954, in Port Antonio, Jamaica. When he was a year old, the infant moved to the UK with his mother as part of the Windrush generation. The young Mooji was raised by his father and his mother's cousin.
Mooji was raised by his uncle after his father died when he was eight years old.
Mooji also had a sister, Cherry Groce. Cherry was one of the significant people in his life. Groce was shot and paralyzed during a police raid on her home. This raid would be the thing that sparked what would become the 1985 Brixton Riot. It was a crucial moment in the journey that Mooji took.
He also had a brother, Peter, who became one of the top table tennis players in the country.
Mooji began his career working as a street artist in order to provide for his family. He was working as an art teacher when he had an encounter with a Christian, which began his journey into the spiritual world.
Mooji would quit teaching art in 1993, and he took a trip to India. In India, he attended a satsang. This satsang was headed by a guru called Papaji.
During this time, Mooji began travelling back and forth between the UK and India. He would write thoughts of the day on straws from McDonald's. His career as a spiritual teacher began in the year 1993. A group of students seeking his spiritual insights was what pushed him to become one. For his followers, the self-help guru began to produce books, CDs, and videos of his teachings.
Mooji has since expanded from videos to give satsangs all around the world. He attracts thousands of people coming to seek the truth and enlightenment. According to his family, Mooji has attracted people throughout his life.
Eventually, he purchased a large property in the parish of São Martinho das Amoreiras, in the Alentejo region of Portugal. Here, he would establish an ashram that was called Monte Sahaja.
Mooji continues to give talks on God and freedom. His followers enjoy the content he produces in videos and books. He has been incredibly active in the world of writing. The books that he has written are: 'Writing On Water: Spontaneous Utterances, Insights And Drawings', 'Before I Am: The Direct Recognition Of Truth – Dialogues With Mooji', 'White Fire : Spiritual Insights And Teachings Of Advaita Zen Master Mooji', 'The Mala Of God', 'Vaster Than Sky, Greater Than Space' and 'An Invitation To Freedom'.
Even though Mooji has an incredibly vast net worth, he does not live in the lap of luxury. Mooji prefers to lead a simple life.
