The famous Malaysian-born chef Poh Ling Yeow began her career immediately after she graduated from the university as a graphics designer, make-up artist, and illustrator. She went into freelancing, and her clients included the famous L'Oréal cosmetics firm Attitude Magazine, Megan Gale, the Australian String Quartet, Lisa Ho, and David Bromley.

While working as an artist, she had her first solo presentation artist in 2002 and was a habitual exhibitor at the Libby Edwards Gallery and Hill Smith Gallery. She had her artworks published by Vogue Australia, House & Garden, Who magazine, The Advertiser, and even The Chinese Exotic. Poh Ling Yeow had her first television debut as a chef on April 13, 2005, when she starred on the ABC broadcast 'Beat The Chef' and became famous four years later in 2009 on 'MasterChef Australia'.
