A baby manatee weighs around 60 to 70 pounds and measures up to 4.5 feet. Baby manatees are found to be born either head- or tail-first. Manatees are also known as sea cows and are said to be gentle, non-aggressive marine mammals. A baby manatee sticks close to his mother for a year or two and thus learns travel routes, locations of food, and warm water refugees. Manatees never leave the water, but they generally come up every five minutes for air. Did you know?
