Cottontail Rabbit or Sylvilagus, is a species of rabbits that are found mostly in both North and South America. They are named Cottontail due to their tail, which looks like cotton. They are small rabbits with their average sizes being somewhat around 15-18 in (38-45 cm), and their average weight being around 500 g (1.80 kg). The Cottontail Rabbit reproduces very fast, with their average litter size being around 3-4 per litter, and they can also litter 3-4 times a year. They have very weak eyesight so they rely on their exceptional hearing to avoid predators. However, they are easily preyed upon by other predators, even after having exceptional hearing and amazing speed. They live in burrows underground and they mostly eat insects such as cockroaches and spiders.
