The little ones will enjoy learning about groundhog through this free printable groundhog day coloring pages resource. Groundhog is a furry rodent, which is found in the shades of black, white, gray or brown.

They are also known to be a species of squirrels.

Their diet and their burrowing habit make them a nuisance animal around farms and gardens as they eat anything grown in the farms and burrow the holes everywhere, undermining the farm's foundation. Their hibernation period is winter, and they make a separate burrow for their hibernation.

The winter burrow is mainly in the forests or bushy area and digs so that it remains at a stable temperature.

They are restless and always found foraging food like squirrels.

Groundhog day is a well-known North American tradition celebrated, which comes from the superstition believed that if a groundhog leaves their burrow on a day sees his shadow because of the clear weather, he will go back to his burrow to hibernate and winter will extend and persist for another six weeks.
