They are large in size and mostly found in North America and Eurasia. Male wolves weigh around 70-140 lb (31.7-63.5 kg), while a female wolf weighs around 70-100 lb (31.7-45.3 kg). They are also known as grey wolves. They hunt in groups known as a pack, and are highly social and expressive in their behaviour. They live and travel in families that include the father, mother wolf and their offspring. Offspring leave their parents once they mature. They leave to make their own family. Wolves are territorial animals and many of them die in fights defending their territory. They are carnivores and feed on hoofed and smaller animals, carrion and much more. They have peg-like horse teeth that are small, but sharp. Their teething happens between five and twelve months after they are born. Adult wolves have 42 teeth. Their teeth look similar to those of dogs, but with a more predatory look.
