The males weigh between 18-44 lb (8.1-20 kg), whereas the females weigh around 15 to 40 lb (7-19 kg). Their body length on an average is around 3.2-5 ft (1-1.35 m). While their tail is around 15.7 in (40 cm). The coyotes are a little smaller in size. Coyotes have large brains and long ears. The frame of their face is thinner and has muzzles. The tail of coyotes is downwards when they walk or run. Most coyotes live in a family or loosely known individual groups. Many of them are solitary animals. They are immensely aggressive creatures similar to foxes. The aggression can be seen when they arch their back and lower its tail. To play they flex, leap, spin, dive with their playmates. They are one of the most vocal creatures amongst North American wild animals. Their vocalization is the reason that they are also called ‘barking dogs’.
