The Ceremonial County of Greater Manchester is situated in North West England, with a population of 2.8 million. With the second largest population in England after Greater London, the region spans 493 square miles. It is made up of 10 boroughs including Bury, Bolton, Oldham, Stockport, Wigan, Rochdale, Trafford, Tameside and the cities of Salford and Manchester.

Bolton museum has a great range of Egyptian mummies as well as local history and wildlife, and footie fans big and small will love the world’s biggest and best football museum in Manchester city centre. If you love wildlife and nature, Pennington Flash Country Park is located between Lowton and Leigh, or Alkrington Woods, a local nature reserve in Middleton, is perfect for a woodland walk. The town of Eccles, which is best known for its cakes, is the location for Adventure Now, an exciting outdoor activity venue where you can go quad biking, axe throwing, and shoot air rifles and crossbows.
