If you are looking for the perfect live-streamed ballet for beginners classes, trained dancer Sarah Du-Feu is teaching kids fundamental ballet moves as well as doing some imaginative play at the same time. With us all spending more time indoors, Sarah has found a way to teach her brilliant ballet workouts.
Aimed at kids 2-5, these sessions are a fun opportunity to get your little dancer's feet moving. If you have older budding ballerinas, Sarah is also running free classes for kids aged 5-7 and 8-13, which means you can find the perfect class for your child's age and ability.
The Ballet Coach classes will also build self-confidence, creativity and increase physical activity through dance. So, what can you expect in the class? This awesome ballet workout takes the format of typical dance school classes, with warmups, imaginative role-play and lots of fun, dynamic exercises.
Expect plenty of exercises to strengthen your body, including your arms, back, thighs and knees. Sarah will help you to position yourself correctly for the perfect bow and curtsey. And there will be shoutouts at the beginning and end of the lesson!
Grown-ups are welcome too! If you are missing your ballet barre workout, join in with your kids. Like barre, ballet builds strength, stamina and balance and lengthens your muscles. So dig out that one tutu you own and channel your inner ballerina. You will learn to do a full plié and balance on one leg in no time! A perfect first ballet class right at home. Fellow English National Ballet dancer Anya Mercer has written a how-to guide on starting ballet at home, which you can read here.
