Mike Ditka, besides being a former American football player, is a television commentator and coach. Ditka had been selected five times for the Pro Bowl and was also acknowledged as the UPI NFL Rookie Of The Year in 1961.
He also served as an assistant coach. Mike Ditka has also been given the moniker 'Iron Mike'. Iron Mike became famous as an NFL Champion after he led the Chicago Bears to victory and helped his team win the Super Bowl thrice. He is one iconic player who has played both the college and the pro league. His moniker is a reference to the iconic steel town of Pennsylvania, where he was born. Along with Tom Flores, Mike is the only player who has won NFL titles in all three playing categories—player, assistant coach, and head coach. His real name is Michael Dyczko, and he was born to the welder Mike Ditka Sr. and Charlotte Keller on October 18, 1939.
