Born on March 10, 1949, Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American entrepreneur, investor, speaker, consultant, writer, and television personality.
She also writes for a syndicated newspaper. She founded the New York City real estate agency The Corcoran Group, which she eventually sold to NRT for $66 million and left the business shortly after.
Corcoran experienced difficulties in school and eventually discovered that she had dyslexia. She went to St. Cecilia High School, Englewood, and later switched to Leonia High School after failing many classes her freshman year. She later earned a degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College. Corcoran, one of the original Shark investors on the program, has so far made appearances in all 12 seasons of ABC's 'Shark Tank'. Corcoran has published three books, writes a weekly column for the New York Daily News, and contributes to More, The Daily Review, and Redbook. She has appeared on 'Larry King Live' and NBC's 'Today' program. She also co-hosts 'The Millionaire Broker' on CNBC.
