Garifuna Settlement Day is a holiday that is celebrated in Belize as this day marks the day when the Garifuna people arrived on the Caribbean coast of Belize, which was at that time British Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.

The neighborhood Carib took the survivors to the primary island of St. Vincent where they set up a local area that would foster a novel Afro-native culture and gathering that turned into the Garifuna public. Known as the 'Dark Caribs', they represented an impressive hindrance to the British and French, assuming responsibility for the island bunch. Boss Joseph Chatoyer was a Garifuna boss in St. Vincent. He constrained the British to sign a ceasefire that put down the stopping points among the British and Carib region of the island.
There is lots of eating, drinking, music, and being cheerful on this day. There are parades where drumming and dancing are the highlights of the celebration. The national holiday is celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm.
