This day is celebrated throughout the United States of America.
National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day is celebrated by all Americans, who take the initiative to clean and wipe their fridges.
This day was first observed in the year 1999.
Although the origins of this day are still a mystery, it is thought that the home economists of Whirlpool came up with this day.
The origins of this day are still a mystery to us. However, some interesting facts about the refrigerator are jotted down for your reference.
Although this day is not one of the official holidays, people make the most of it by engaging themselves in vamping up their fridges. They clean the refrigerator either solitarily or with the help of the family members. All the old food items are removed from the refrigerator's shelves and the freezer.
As the name suggests, this is the day to clean your fridge and make space for the upcoming leftovers to be stored. Wash the shelves, drawers, beverage holders, as well as the door seal. Don't forget to clean the floor underneath. Dispose of all the expired foods from the refrigerator and prepare the shelves for some new food items. You can also post a picture of your clean refrigerator on social media to encourage other people.
A deep clean should be given to your refrigerator every three to four months.
A mixture of baking soda and warm water makes the perfect cleaning agent. Lemon juice is also used to overcome the smell of moldy food in the refrigerator.
There is a National Clean Up Your Room Day celebrated on May 10 annually.
Although the origins of this day aren't clear at the moment, it is said that the home economists of Whirlpool came up with this day in the year 1999.
Things that should be kept in mind while cleaning the refrigerator are: making sure you switch off the fridge while cleaning to avoid electric shocks, putting out all the food items from the refrigerator so that there there is no chance of cleaning agent contamination, and finally keeping the door of the fridge open for sometime before powering it up again so that all the smell of the cleaning agent fades out.
As the name suggests, this day is celebrated by cleaning our refrigerators and throwing out the expired food items from the fridge.
