FOR AGES 1 YEARS TO 99 YEARS
At Kidadl we pride ourselves on offering families original ideas to make the most of time spent together at home or out and about, wherever you are in the world. We strive to recommend the very best things that are suggested by our community and are things we would do ourselves - our aim is to be the trusted friend to parents.
We try our very best, but cannot guarantee perfection. We will always aim to give you accurate information at the date of publication - however, information does change, so it’s important you do your own research, double-check and make the decision that is right for your family.
Kidadl provides inspiration to entertain and educate your children. We recognise that not all activities and ideas are appropriate and suitable for all children and families or in all circumstances. Our recommended activities are based on age but these are a guide. We recommend that these ideas are used as inspiration, that ideas are undertaken with appropriate adult supervision, and that each adult uses their own discretion and knowledge of their children to consider the safety and suitability.
Kidadl cannot accept liability for the execution of these ideas, and parental supervision is advised at all times, as safety is paramount. Anyone using the information provided by Kidadl does so at their own risk and we can not accept liability if things go wrong.
This day is celebrated in the United States. However, it can be celebrated everywhere around the world as students all over the world could benefit from this awareness day.
School administrators celebrate this day and organize events for the backpack safety of their students. Besides this, students initiative should be taken to educate parents who should be a part of this celebration too.
The first-ever National School Backpack Awareness Day was celebrated on the third Wednesday of September in 2001.
The American Occupational Therapy Association started this day for the welfare of pupils.
Bags existed for centuries, however over time their utilization and design have changed based on their efficiency. Backpacks are chiefly fastened to the shoulder with shoulder straps, unlike suitcases.
There are no prominent traditions and customs that are to be followed. Nevertheless, schools or parents should arrange awareness events and start their own traditions.
Students, parents, and teachers should attend an event for backpack safety. You can share awareness posts on social media. Write down key points and pass them out to other people. Most importantly pledge to follow these safety rules as much as possible.
There are events held on this day where experts provide instruction on the safe organization and management of backpacks.
This day brings people together and explains the importance of backpack safety. This is a great opportunity for caregivers, parents, and teachers.
This day is not only a chance to learn about backpack safety but also to understand the pressure kids go through in life and what community members can do to help.
Several health problems like back pain, shoulder injury, and bad posture could be the result of inappropriate usage of backpacks. Therefore, promoting awareness can help a lot of students.
It is important because kids often exhibit physical and psychological issues because they carry overweight bags. Thus, not only proper usage but also understanding of weight distribution is important, particularly with heavy backpacks.
To show students the appropriate usage of backpacks and how to wear the bags on their shoulders, this day was founded by members of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Kids, parents, and teachers can together be a part of this awareness program and this is very unique.
This enables schools to maintain a regulation that is to be followed for the advancement of the pupils and to take care of their mental health as well as their physical health.
