World Contact Day is celebrated internationally.
World Contact Day is celebrated by IFSB Members as well as extraterrestrial life enthusiasts who are sure that alien life exists and that the need to contact them is real so that we can learn about their world.
World Contact Day was first started in 1953. While it is just a day celebration, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of this day, in 2013, the celebrations were extended to a whole week.
The International Flying Saucer Bureau started World Contact Day. The organization was founded by Albert K. Bender.
The members of the IFSB collectively send messages to outer space on behalf of all humans who believe in the UFO phenomena on this day.
There are no prescribed traditions and customs for this day. However, celebrators all over the world take to the web to watch an alien video or listen to music related to this day’s theme.
There are no specific ways to celebrate this day, while the members of the IFSB try to transmit a message to space via telepathy, civilians often celebrate this day by listening to the iconic track 'Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft' by the Carpenters and by watching movies about space, aliens, UFOs, and extraterrestrial life.
Movies including the classic 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', series like 'Star Trek', 'Battlestar Galactica', and the 'X files' videos top the list for some binge-worthy World Contact Day Material.
The world contact day song 'Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft' was created by John Woloschuk of Klaatu. The Carpenters later made a cover version of this album. The music album was an instant hit.
World Contact Day came into reality on March 15, 1953; by a vote of all the members of the International Flying Saucer Bureau.
The International Flying Saucer Bureau believes that life beyond planet Earth exists and uses this day to make telepathic communication with aliens. Their messages ask., them to visit Earth and make an appearance for humans so as to enable them to believe in the existence of extraterrestrial life.
The IFSB was created by a former US airman, Albert K. Bender. A year later, all of the members of this bureau voted to create World Contact Day.
