Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom, Telford is a dream, any families' paradise, where there is always something happening from March to December. Plus, if you want to make this an extended visit, families can stay overnight in some self-catering accommodation which is located in the nearby Badger's Wood. These shows encourage audience participation and interaction, like feeding lambs, meeting reptilian predators like snakes, feeding deer and watching the famous Sheep Steeplechase! The Hoo Farm, Animal Kingdom events, alter and change depending on the season, from lambs in the spring, to summer fun. There are amazing events inspired by festivities such as the Halloween Screams, the Hoo Farm Witch Hunt and a traditional Christmas, with Father Christmas in his log cabin from the end of November, which includes Nativity Performances full of surprises and festive charm.

Discover the new areas on the farm trail, like the 'Bizarre British Wildlife', boasting otters, foxes and owls, and more animals found in the UK. Come to Telford Farm to find out which bizarre animals you can meet. Your little ones can get a full world tour through the fascinating animals here at this great Animal Kingdom and farm. Visit animals from a different continent, like in The African Zone, which is home to some of the old favourites like the Giant Tortoises and hilarious meerkats, plus the new arrivals of the wide-eyed Lemurs and spiky Porcupine. This zone introduces you to animals you would never normally see in the UK. Visit the other areas, and keep up to date with new areas, like the 'Wallaby Woods' which enables families to walk through the wallaby enclosure. Don't miss out on the Llama Walking which happens from the start of summer and here your little ones will love walking with Llamas, it's great fun. Plus, with the Furry Tail forest, visitors can get involved in the New Egg Experience, which is an undercover building, accompanied by a trip to see the three little pigs and the Hoollee High street.

The farm is well known for the sheep steeplechase, which is an 'ewenique', entertaining must-do experience for any visitor. The sheep's race over a five fence course, from Fleecers Brook, Spinners Chair, Darners Ditch, Woolly Leap and Stable Turn, and they do so with agility and speed as they race past their running rivals. Moreover, there is race commentary, eloquently performed by former jockey Edward Dorrell. Starting Easter Monday, the race season launches at full blast, with a race each day throughout the summer, except for Fridays, which is the dedicated rest day for the racers. Plus, you need to check out the frequent goat races which take place throughout the summer, along with Ferret Racing which you don't want to miss, which normally takes place in the school holidays.

Get active in the Hoo Farm outdoor and indoor play areas that include an under 5s area for those with little legs, boasting soft play, and a ball pool, whilst over 5s can have a great time playing by the pool table, table football and air hockey. What to know before you go

When you're feeling peckish, pop into the shop for a memento from your visit. Plus, in the Cow Shed Snack Shop, there are burgers, hot dogs and jacket potatoes, served for visitors. There is also an indoor and outdoor picnic area.
There are toilets, baby changing facilities and accessible toilets on site.
Hoo Farm is moderately flat with no prominent undulations or slopes, but the pathways are gravel and can be challenging for some wheelchair users.
Tip: wear clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty.

Getting there

Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom is located at Preston on the Weald Moors, Telford, Shropshire. Being located in the heart of Telford, it is easily accessible from all parts of the county.
If travelling via public transport, Telford Central station is about 4 miles away from the Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom, where you can get a cab which is the easiest route, or public transport.
If travelling by car, there are brown signposts from the M54 Junction 6, A442 at Shawbirch and A518 at Donnington.
There is parking on site.
