Make your way to the Woodlands at Trentham, which have dominated the estate for over 1000 years. The historic woodland is magnificent to explore, of which The Kings Wood, The Monument, The Oaks and The Parkland Walks are all free to enter, home to many hidden gems and uncovered secrets. Clearly signposted, with areas of interest highlighted, all the walks are relaxing, giving you the chance to connect with nature and your family, all to ensure you don't miss a thing.

Get active in the adventure playground, with swings, places for you to jump around and more, perfect for letting off some steam. Don't miss out on the array of activities available, all of which making use of natural materials for sustainable play. In the adventure playground, they can tackle the Altitude Tower, and conquer the immense climbing wall, enjoy the exhilarating slide back down to earth and more. For active types, they'll have a blast on the assault course, while flying high on the swings, plus they can get creative in the sand pits and test their driving skills at the Young Drivers Zone, where vehicles are suitable for children aged 5 and under. Play hide and seek in the hide-and-speak maze for endless fun. Steam along the lakeside astride in spring and summer on the miniature train, and set sail like a pirate on the electric catamaran. Don't miss out on the UK's first Barefoot Walk and tantalise your toes on this fun trail.

For those with littler legs, there is the toddler zone, which is a nautical themed, natural adventure play area. Boasting large sandy play areas, with diggers at its heart, and an activity tower, along with a new nest swing, toddlers’ seesaw and springy bees, plus additional cradle swings and extra seating, there's really something for every tot. The toddler zone and area includes three activity boats, one of which is wheelchair accessible, on a golden sea of sand, so all can enjoy their time at Trentham Estate.

Experience wildlife at Trentham, which is a significant element of the Trentham estate experience, as there is a long-term commitment to nature conservation, providing an environment where flora and forna flourish, along with other wildlife. Watch out for Titania the fairy, plus plenty others dotted around the site, they'll help point you in the right direction if you get lost, too. See which fairies you can spot, as each one is different, some bold, some wanting to shake your hand, and others harder to spot high up in the Trentham trees. For more Staffordshire Wildlife, check out the Peak Wildlife Park, which is great fun and another nature-based place for you to come across some real furry friends, with both exotic animals from across three different continents.

Don't miss out on events and activities like Trentham's Trickery Trail, the Wizarding Hands, Broomstick Building, Sorcerous Spells and more for festive, seasonal events. Plus, for some sporting fun, try out Trentham's 9-hole Disc Golf course, set amongst beautiful parkland area and gardens. What to know before you go

When you're feeling peckish, there are an abundance of places to eat from cafe's, to chains, to family friendly eateries and more.
There are toilets, baby changing facilities and accessible toilets on site.
The site is all on one level with low ramped access to most facilities, for wheelchair and pushchair users.

Getting there

Trentham Estate opening times are from 10am-4pm daily.
Trentham Estate is located at Stone Road. If travelling by public transport, Nearest station is Stoke-on-Trent, which is about 4 miles from Trentham. Alternatively, Stafford Station is a bit further out but nearby, too. You can get a cab or a bus from both of these stations. Get the 14 bus towards Stafford Town Centre, stopping at Trentham Hotel.
If travelling by car, you can find Trentham Estate on the A34 between Newcastle under Lyme and Stone in Staffordshire.
There is parking onsite, plus free bays for visitors with disabilities.
