Are your kids mad about mummies or ga-ga for the Greeks? Take a journey back in time across civilisations in one of the world’s largest museums. With more than 8 million works, there’s something to inspire and intrigue every little adventurer.

Kidadler Rachel says, "The British museum has some lovely kids trails in the quieter rooms. Ask at the info desk for the free leaflets. Fine with a buggy."

Kids will be gripped by the awesome Egyptian mummies and Roman remains. Little warriors will love the Samurai armour and Saxon bronze helmets. Take one of the several themed 20-minute guided tours. Or head over to the Great Court where kids can play digital games and solve puzzles.

The museum regularly holds a whole range of family activities such as puppet-making, fan folding and animal patterns and there are daily object handling sessions at the Hands On desks. With this much to see, kids will have endless stories for show and tells!
