Alligators and crocodiles are two close relative reptile groups. Crocodilians, like the American alligator, have vertical pupils that open wide in low light, which allows them to be impressive nocturnal hunters. Crocodiles and Alligators belong to the Order Crocodilia. Alligators belong to the family Alligatoridae whereas Crocodiles come from the family Crocodylidae. The 23 living species of crocodilians have not changed much over decades, but they are very advanced compared to other reptiles. Unlike other living reptiles, crocodilians have efficient four-chambered hearts (like birds and mammals). If you are interested in these magnificent creatures and have fallen in love with them, then you might want to know some crocodile names. Here are a few favorite names that you can bestow on your pet crocodile. Even Crocodylus can turn out to be a great name for your pet!
