These cats are always on the go! They have a curious temperament. They love taking random items throughout the house and strut through the house proudly, unlike a cat lying around.

Wild Cats With Big Ears

The wildcats are European and African cats breed. They are complex and have various unique traits and distinguishing characteristics that make them easy to identify. 

The black-footed cat, African cat, Caracal, Serval, and jungle cat, Chausie, and Cornish Rex are some of the most common breeds of wild cats with a long ear shape.

The African wild cat is a sub-breed of wild cat. These adorable cats are also known as desert cats. They have a yellow-grey to brownish-shade coat.

They do not have a very long fur coat; in fact, this breed has a shorter fur coat than most European subspecies, giving them a wild look. They have a relatively small body and tail. Enjoy devouring such as rats, mice, and other small insects.

They are good hunters, and when they hear any sound of prey approaching, they get into position and pounce on the prey when they are within 1 m (39.3 in) of it. They prefer hunting during the night or twilight.

To intimidate any intruders, this cat raises its body hair to look large and scary. The males and females actively defend their territories. During the daytime, this big-eared cat stays hidden behind bushes.

Another large lugs cat is a black-footed cat! This breed occurs on the African continent. They can be seen in areas such as Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, etc.

This cat prefers to be active during the night as well. They are rarely seen during the daytime. They also hide behind bushes, rocks, and hollow ground.

Caracal literally translates to black-eared in Turkish. They have relatively long dark hair standing on their tapering-shaped ear. They use this unique feature to communicate with other cats. They are native to dry land.

However, they do have a large habitat tolerance. They are found all over Africa, including savannah, woodlands, and acacia. They are also found in some places in India.

Serval is another breed of wildcat which is similar to caracals and African golden cats. They have a pair of large oval-shaped ear. This feature is similar to its long legs and slender body.

They also have a visible fur coat pattern and a small head. Jungle cats are one of the most common wild cats found in India. They also appear in central Asia, Egypt, and Sri Lanka. This breed loves roaming in nature and finds its homes in burrows, trees, or rocks.

Domestic Cats With Big Ears

Domestic cats are one of the most loved domestic animals, along with dog breeds by owners. With their inquisitive eyes, soft fur coat, and cute tail, they own the hearts of their owners.

But, apart from these, one of their most adorable features is their ears! Different cat breeds have different types of ears, some are big, some are even bigger! Such types of feline breed reflect the wild habitat look.

Longhair and shorthair Oriental are closely related to the Siamese breed and have the distinguishing characteristics of having long ears resembling bats! Another highly intelligent cat breed with large ears is the Devon Rex, which follows its owners around and is a cousin of the Cornish Rex. The Devon Rex cat emerged in the early 1950s in England.

Devon Rex, unlike Cornish Rex, has short hair and a lean body with wavy hair. Their unique appearance has achieved them the nickname as aliens.

Devon Rex has short and curly whiskers, which are often not even seen clearly. The long lugs that sit low on their head and appear to be round have earned them the spot as common domestic felines with large ears!

The International Cat Association registered the Savannah cat in 2001 and it has since continued to be popular. The Savannah cat is a breed with a mix of the long-ear variety and the domestic cat.

They are very friendly and love to be in social settings despite having a wild ancestry. They also love to roam around on their own to explore!

These Egyptian cats are related to Egypt. The medium-sized Egyptian Mau loves to be active and climb, as they are natural tree climbers; hence, it is good to have trees in their surroundings.

The Egyptian Mau breed comes in a variety of colors, but they are a rare breed. The Egyptian Mau's calm and loving temperament makes them ideal for any family.
