The Chinese goose is a descendant of the wild swan goose. It has a docile temperament. For this reason, it is one of the most popular Chinese goose breeds. The Chinese goose has two color variations, white Chinese goose and gray-brown Chinese goose. They are mainly reared in poultry farms for egg and meat production. They are also used for ornamental purposes. This goose breed is native to Asia. They are very active as well as graceful. Out of both the colors the white ones are more in demand. The prominent knob, slender neck, and colored eyes are their most attractive features. They produce twice as many eggs during the breeding season compared to other goose breeds.

Chinese goose goslings have a pronounced knob when they are six to eight weeks old. The males are slightly heavier than the females.
