The word ‘Chusky’ is a portmanteau that is created from two distinct words ‘Chow Chow’ and ‘Husky’ and from this, we can comprehend that the Chusky dog also a combination of two non-identical breeds of dogs which makes the Chusky a mixed breed. Chusky dogs are not purebred, they are a Chow-Husky mix or Husky-Chow mix.

The Chusky dogs are designer dogs and are also known as Chow Husky, Husky Chow, and Chowski.

The temperament of a Chusky can be described as eager, affectionate, and loyal which they have inherited from their parent breeds. In terms of their physical appearance, sometimes the traits of Chow Chows dominate and sometimes the traits of the Husky dominate hence it is not fixed.

But before getting a Chusky, the owners should be aware of the responsibilities because the Chusky is not an ordinary breed.

The Siberian Husky is a medium to large size breed which originated in Siberia they are a well-built dog with an average height of 20-23 in (50.8-58.4 cm) and they weigh approximately 35-50 lb (15.8-22.6 kg) The Chow Chows are also a medium-size dog which originated in China and are known for their teddy bear-like appearance with a height of around 17-20 in (43.1-50.8 cm) and an average weight of 40-70 lb(18.1-31.1 kg).

A Chusky (full-grown) is a medium to large size dog just like its parent breeds with an approximate height of 18-23 in (45.7-58.4 cm) and weight 45-65 lb (18.1-29.4 kg).

The Siberian Husky hails from a supremely cold region therefore they have two thick coats to protect them from extreme chilly weather and the color may vary from brown to black or gray to white sometimes even reddish-brown or a combination of two or more colors while a Chow Chow can be black, blue, tan, and red.

The Chow Chow also possesses two layers of coat which gives an extraordinary fluffy appearance.

The Chusky may differ in color because sometimes they have a Husky-like appearance and sometimes more of a Chow Chow dog-like appearance, but their double-layered coat is thick and long which sheds in an excessive amount.

This means that regular brushing of their coat is also necessary.

The color of their fur can be reddish, white, black, and brown and also exhibits distinguish markings of a different color.

The Husky-Chow mix has a pair of deep-set eyes that are almond-shaped, a black nose with pointed ears just like huskies, and a tail that is always curled upwards and fluffy.
