Deep-sea fish are the species of the extreme depth of the ocean. They are the life in the world existing in the ocean depths. Considered to be highly predatory by nature, they are spotted through the Indo-Pacific range through the coastal areas of countries like South Africa, Japan, and Brazil. In South Africa, the fish are restricted to the east and along the Ascension Islands towards the south. A few fish can be spotted near the Indo-Pacific region moving towards Mauritius and New Guinea. New Zealand and Australia have recorded a few groups of these species as well. In Japan, towards the north of Fiji, the species were spotted traveling towards the eastern area near the Guadalupe Islands. Fish like the anglerfish and viperfish are most comfortable in the bathyal zone. The bathyal zone is created at a depth between 0.62-2.48 mi (1000-4000 m) with an average temperature of 4 ℃ (39.2 ℉). Read on to know more about these deep-sea organisms.

The deepwater creatures cannot be considered edible deep-sea fish as they contain a large number of bacteria on their scales. These bacteria make the species way more toxic and harmful than those of the shallow water. The lanternfish is the most common deepsea creature.
According to the history of the ocean world, there are many deep water species that have been discovered in their natural environment. Although only a few deep-sea fish names and pictures have been recorded as of now, the most common species of the dark water world would be the anglerfish, viperfish, flashlight fish, as well sharks like the cookie-cutter shark.
