Mackenzie Astin is one of the many stars who appeared in the show 'The Facts of Life'. His award-winning acting as Andy Moffett has stuck with the audience throughout the years and for good reason.

Like many actors who appeared in the show, he also struggled a little to find his foothold in the film industry after 'The Facts of Life' aired its last episode in 1988.

His was one of the recurring roles that were added to the show in the sixth season and by the start of the next few seasons, Andy Moffett had become a regular character.

It was fortunate for Astin that he was not in the show right from the first season of 'The Facts of Life' because many characters were written off in the second season and his might have just been one of them.
