The history goes back as such that Hawkins was a coach of high school students. One time he noticed that many of his students were missing practices, and many of them were also suffering from the deteriorating effects of being dehydrated. Looking at the serious situation made him anxious, and he started to look for a solution. 

Eventually, he came up with the concept of electrolyte tablets. He took significant steps to spread awareness about the importance of being hydrated and how severe dehydration can have so many harmful effects on people's health.
