Babasaheb had a life filled with numerous achievements, such as being appointed Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee by the Prime Minister following India’s independence and ending the caste system.

First Celebration

Janardan Sadashiv Ranapisay, a well-known Ambedkarite, celebrated Babasaheb’s birthday publicly for the first time on April 14, 1928. This celebration was later called Ambedkar Jayanti and continued as a tradition.
