On April 15, 1912, one of the high-speed and unbreakable jewels of the world's maritime heritage, the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank in the sea. Only 50% of the passengers were rescued using lifeboats, and the others remained and drowned on the ship.

The water temperature of the icy waters was very low, causing rapid deaths. Out of a count of more than 1,500 who died on the ship, only 333 bodies were recovered from the disaster.
