He is a winner of seven Grammy awards and many other accolades for his superb knowledge of music and his experiments with different music genres. John Mayer established himself in contemporary rock and broadened the scope to incorporate the blues. A number of his albums are a gift to the industry and his fans. John attended the Center for Global Studies at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk for his junior year and then went to the Center for Japanese Studies Abroad for a magnet program to learn Japanese. Mayer became fascinated with instruments and music and wanted to skip college in order to reach the goals that he had set for the music industry.
Since both of his parents were in the education line, they persuaded him to enroll in 'Berklee College of Music' at the age of 19. But he eventually left Berklee College after completing just two semesters and moved to Atlanta, not alone but with Clay Cook, his college friend.
