Approximately 72.3% of Morehouse College's students are African-American. History Of Morehouse College

Morehouse school was established in 1867. A third name change occurred in 1913 when the school became Morehouse College. The college was named after Henry L. Morehouse. Earlier, the college was known as Atlanta Baptist Seminary.

The college grew to a larger campus of 4 acres in downtown Atlanta and participated in the civil rights movement in the 1960s. Over 20,000 alumni have graduated from Morehouse College.
