Daisy Buchanan is a fictional character from the novel, 'The Great Gatsby', written by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Daisy Buchanan is one of the most popular characters in Fitzgerald's 'Great American Novel'. She is portrayed as a charming and cunning, if slightly superficial, woman.

'The Great Gatsby' revolves around the thwarted love story of Daisy Buchanan and Jay Gatsby. Jay Gatsby manages to steal her heart, but Gatsby has to leave to fight in the Great War, and Daisy promises to wait until Jay Gatsby returns.

However, Daisy marries Tom Buchanan, a wealthy young man, and has a daughter with him. But to Jay Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan is the love of his life, and so he starts accumulating wealth through illegal activities in order to impress her, and maybe even meet her again.

In the end, Daisy chooses Tom over Jay, which illustrates the fact that while she is initially seemingly torn between different love interests, ultimately it could be said she is only torn between money and status.

On the whole, Daisy Buchanan is presented by F. Scott Fitzgerald as the most alluring, wealthy, and graceful character in 'The Great Gatsby', with a fickle side too.

Here is a collection of Daisy Buchanan quotes about her problems, her relationships, and other important aspects of her character.
