Diamondback rattlesnakes have triangle-shaped heads and a characteristic diamond design all over their back from which their name has been derived. These carnivorous creatures have an average lifespan of about 10-25 years.


The two major species of diamondback rattlesnakes are the Eastern diamondback rattlesnakes and the Western diamondback rattlesnakes. Both these species are found in different types of habitat. The Eastern diamondback rattlesnake is found in forests and grasslands, whereas the western diamondback rattlesnakes are found in deserts and areas which experience little rainfall.
