They have a photosensory organ located at the top of their heads. Along with this, a parietal eye is also present on the iguana’s head, which enables it to sense light changes or any other movements. Iguanas are usually green, gray or brown in color and have a long tail along with short legs.

Iguanas usually prefer living in warmer conditions and are found in Mexico, Caribbean islands, Brazil and America. Iguanas are found in a wide range of environments like rainforests, deserts, and islands.

Iguanas possess excellent vision and can even differentiate among shapes and different colors. There are two species of iguana, namely the Green Iguana and the Lesser Antillean Iguana.

The iguana uses its sharp vision to navigate through the trees in the forests in search of food. Eyes are also used for communicating with fellow iguanas. These helpful sheets can also be used to learn more about iguanas offering the kids a chance to know more interesting facts about them!
