Pharaoh Cicadas have a 17 year lifecycle which means that they take 17 complete years to come out and the adults that come out have short lives.

They are native to the countries Canada and the United States. The eyes of a Pharaoh Cicada are commonly red colored but it is also possible for them to have eyes gray, white, blue, or more than one colored eye.

They are also consumed by both humans and other predators like birds, mice, and even raccoons. Pharaoh Cicadas also help in increasing the fertility of lawns as they dig tunnels thus allowing air into the soil and their bodies when rot in the soil provides it with nitrogen.
