The aquatic kingdom makes up one of the most distinct species of flora and fauna. We can never stop learning about every little detail about these creatures.

Here, we introduce you to one such unique sea animal. Sea anemone is a marine animal that falls under the Actiniaria order and Cnidaria phylum.

They are named after a flower of the same name because of similar appearances. A sea anemone is a sessile polyp that is attached to the surface at the bottom by an adhesive foot known as a pedal disc.

Also, they have a column-shaped body with an oral disc at the top. They generally do not pose any threat to humans.

However, their sting can trigger a type of burning sensation at the site of the bite. Some other aquatic animals like that of a sea anemone include Actinia, Aiptasia, Anemonia, Metridium, Adamsia and Heteractis.

The following is a sea anemone coloring pages resource, which the kids would love to color. In the free printable picture, we see a sea anemone that appears to be casually floating amidst a sea.
