'Anne Of Green Gables' is a famous novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery which was written and published in the year 1908.

Montgomery drew inspiration from the real-life story of Evelyn Nesbit who an orphan and mistakenly sent to two siblings who had wanted a boy to work on their farm but received a girl. Lucy decided to infuse this idea in her work of fiction.

The novel records the mental growth of the protagonist named Anne Shirley, and it is her maturity that allows her to give up on her scholarship to stay home and tend to her guardian, Marilla Cuthbert, in the end. It has multiple characters and the book carries a different kind of spirit to it.

It eventually became one of the best series of books. It has also been adapted into a Netflix series.
