A rainbow is a stunning meteorological phenomenon caused by three processes: reflection, refraction, and dispersion.

It is a continuous spectrum of vivid colors formed in a circular arc when water droplets are viewed from a certain angle in relation to a light source, usually the sun. The human eye most commonly sees rainbow in Isaac Newton's sevenfold sequence ranging from red to violet.

Rainbows hold a notable place in art and mythology owning to their natural beauty and complexity. One of the earliest recorded occurrences in literature is in the 'Book Of Genesis' as a part of Noah’s flood story.

In Norse Mythology, a bridge of rainbow, Bifrost, is said to connect the world of men (Midgard) and the realm of the Gods (Asgard). According to Irish folklore, leprechauns are said to hide their pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
