An ancient Roman poet of the Augustan period, Publius Vergilius Maro, also known as Virgil or Vergil, was born on 15 October 70 BC.

Virgil's death was recorded on 21 September 19 BC. Virgil has been remembered as one of the greatest poets of Rome.
