Gene Wilder was born on June 11, 1933.

He is an American comedian, writer, and actor. He is famous for his role in the musical fantasy movie 'Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory' (1971) as Willy Wonka.

He also worked with Richard Pryor on the movies 'Another You', 'Silver Streak', and 'See No Evil, Hear No Evil'. He also worked with Mel Brooks on the movies 'The Producers', 'Blazing Saddles', and 'Young Frankenstein'. Born Jerome Silberman, he changed his name to Gene Wilder because he felt that 'Jerome Silberman In Macbeth' did not sound right.
