George Clooney is an American actor, producer, and activist, who received widespread fame for playing Dr. Doug Ross in 'ER'.

Clooney was born in Lexington, Kentucky. He is one of only three actors who have received Academy Award nominations in six categories.

Clooney gained popularity for playing Dr. Doug Ross in the NBC drama 'ER', for which he received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He thinks that directing is really exciting.
