Anna Mary Robertson, alias Grandma Moses, born Anna Mary Robertson, is an American folk painter best known for her naive depictions of rural life in the United States in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

In 1936, she decided to move back to a daughter's residence. She was known as 'Mother Moses' or 'Grandma Moses,' and while she first showed up as 'Mrs. Moses,' the press nicknamed her 'Grandma Moses,' and the nickname stuck.

She started creating paintings in her ’70s. The Bennington Museums holds the highest number of Grandma Moses' paintings collections. Grandma Moses had also designed a lot of greeting cards.
