Francisco 'Pancho' Villa, born Jose Doroteo Arango Arambula, was a Mexican revolutionary general and one of the most well-known names of the Mexican Revolution.

Pancho Villa was known for being the provisional governor of Chihuahua between 1913 and 1914 and for leading the 'Division of the North' of the Constitutionalist Army. Pancho Villa had joined forces with another revolutionary Emiliano Zapata.

Pancho Villa was shot by a group of seven armed assassins when he was visiting Parral on 20 July 1923. While Villa was returning from the bank in his car, a pumpkinseed vendor ran towards his car and signaled the men to start shooting.
