Niccolo Machiavelli wrote 'The Prince' for the rulers and royals as a guide to ruling over their subjects.

'The Prince’s theme is accepting and justifying the use of immoral means to rule over the subjects. Machiavelli wrote this book in exile.

In his book, 'The Prince', Machiavelli wrote about three major themes. The first is politics, and to maintain political power, the Prince must utilize force when necessary and keep his motive hidden from the public.

The second one is fate and chance, he must be prepared for what is beyond his control. Be cautious and prepared and don’t leave things to fate.

The third theme is deception, public perception is everything to gain loyalty and that lying is necessary to maintain control. Read along to find important 'The Prince' quotes.
